Hi this is Mr Gee. I want to give a big shout out to everyone in ODI
Leeds. I guess we gotta do this conference remotely. It's a
shame that I can't be there to meet you all. We had a great
time last year, but I know that in the year to come will be
meeting each other again. I want to give a big shout to yeah
everybody up North Man, I've been stuck down in London
in isolation for so long I've barely been up the road, let
alone up the M1. So I want to give a big shout out to my
people in Bradford, in Manchester and Salford in Leeds and
Sheffield and Liverpool - the
Champions and way way way up North to the Iron Brew Crew in
Scotland that's Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Dundee, Fife
I want to give a shout out to Huddersfield to Middlesbrough
to Newcastle and Sunderland; the Tyne and Wear crew. I want to give a
shout to my auntie in Harrogate and York and last but not least
by the banks of the River Humber I wanna give a big shout out to Hull
because you are all northern stars shining high in those
northern skies and this poem is dedicated to all of you and it's
called 'A Land of Many Norths'
We can become
Consumed by our own division, No matter how hard we multiply,
To be another closed mind that simply adds, To the subtraction of our times,
Yet theories of accommodation, Require unlocking of conversations,
Adjusting for pause, pitch & syntax,
To understand pronunciation, Because the climates; they are-a-changing,
This is a land of many Norths, A sky of many northern delights,
With northern stars to chart their course,
For who should decide the laws? To procure the portals of our minds,
Beyond the point of no return, To keep the bee, let's heal the hive,
Let's be responsible for our own AI As androids dream of electric Sheep,
As Karma records are orbiting voices,
Drawn into Data's Gravity, Let's be responsible for our own North Stories,
Told with Bolder honestly,
So the intangible value that lies within us, Connects with broader Synergy,
So can I learn from expertise in Leeds? Can I keep in touch with the Dutch?
There's always something refreshing going on in Yorkshire,
Because let's face it... London's water sucks
Is that being radically open enough? It might seem that
I'm hacking my own closed London system,
But the first step towards knowledge, is to admit your ignorance.
Nobody knows everything... Everybody knows something
The future's calling, let us listen.
Thank you, I hope you guys enjoy the rest of the conference.
I've been Mr Gee. Goodbye.
