Rory Canavan leads the Arup Ecology and Biodiversity team in Yorkshire & Northwest England. His role entails responding to directly to the biodiversity agenda and the wider interrelationship with the climate emergency. He is more broadly responsible for the development of ecological and biological sciences within Arup. Leading on innovation and foresight, e.g. regenerative design, urban biodiversity, and horizon scanning. He has a direct focus on rapidly emerging agendas; e.g. member of the design committee for Science Based Targets for nature for Cities and an appointed member of the Scientific and Expert Committee for Infrastructure and Ecology Network Europe (IENE).
