Colour-your-own General Election 2024
The UK's next General Election is only a couple of weeks away. As regular visitors may know, we've been preparing for this for some time. Last year we designed a new constituencies hex layout based on the 2023 boundary reviews. We've also been building a site to show constituency-level data on our (openly shared) hex layouts including the candidates by constituency. With all that done, it was time to make something a bit more fun. Welcome to our colour-your-own General Election hex map (PDF).
On election night (4th July) sit down with a printed map (and our included lookup table of constituencies) some colouring pens/pencils and colour your own hex cartogram with the results. We'll leave it up to you to find enough different colours for all the political parties. If you colour-your-own on election night, share it with the hashtags #HexElection and #GE2024.
