Dear all,
I'd like to invite you to participate in the one-day Energy Innovation Lab.
Date: August 24, 2015.
Venue: ODI Leeds, Munro House (Duke Street)
Time: 9.30AM - 5.30PM**
Scope of Hack:
--------------------
Using available data how can we create innovative solutions that encourage managers within Leeds City Council to take a greater interest in the energy consumed by their service? Furthermore, how can we motivate staff to amend their behaviour so as to consume less energy at work?
Structure of the day:
---------------------------
9.30 am - Arrival and introductions
10.00 am - Group formation and discuss the brief
11:30 - Presentation of storyboard
12.00 pm - Lunch Break*
4.45 pm - Developers present proof of concept to LCC staff
*Lunch, drinks and snacks will be provided. Please let me know if you have any special dietary requirements.
**1.00pm - 16.45pm is time allocated to the developers to work on the proof of concept. You are welcome to stay (we have Wi-FI and snacks/drinks) or return at 4.45pm for final presentations.
Data sets:

The event will utilise Council energy data (some of which is already published on the Leeds Data Mill) from the Council's corporate TEAM database, along with other data sets such as building size, occupation and footfall. Commercially sensitive data (such as energy prices) will not be made open.
After the event:
---------------------
After the event, I will present a summary of the concepts developed on the day. Based on your input, additional resources such as visualisations and infographics can be developed for internal communication.
