#PlanetData4 - The Waste Transformers: Turning one of the causes of global warming, food waste into economic, restoring and social opportunities
About Coen Bakker
Marketing Manager, The Waste Transformers

An astonishing 30% of all food produced is lost or wasted. Coen Bakker, Marketing Manager at The Waste Transformers points out the problem of food waste handling and why it is heating up our global temperature in a very short time.
The Waste Transformers turn one of the causes of global warming, food waste into an opportunity. How? By taking transportation of food waste out of the equation and thereby enabling food waste producers, such as malls, universities, municipalities and food production companies to turn their non-consumable food waste on-site, into green local energy. They restore the organic nutrients to use as an organic fertilizer to put CO2 back into the soil, or to grow greens in urban areas. This technology fits into modular containers, named Waste Transformers, and grow with the amount of food waste available, between 300kg-3000kg per day.
