Stuart works on a range of projects at Open Innovations (formerly ODI Leeds) that use open data - everything from visualising the Internet-of-things sector to mapping open datasets in the north of England to hex cartograms of election results and visualising future energy scenarios.

Before joining Open Innovations Stuart was a radio astronomer, helped build a satellite to study the echoes of the Big Bang, made educational websites, created a book of infographics about space and astronomy, and cycled across continents.
