Mapping Creative Education
Exploring arts and cultural engagement with the University of Leeds
This is the hub page for our work with the University of Leeds, exploring the data to understand how Leeds schools are engaging with arts and culture.
Working with Dr. Briony Thomas, Associate Professor of Design Science at the University of Leeds, with the Leeds33 Cultural Education Partnership, we are helping to solve the current lack of data available to understand the cultural engagement of schools, and how schools can seek support to build on their arts and cultural offering for young people. This ties in with our work with the LEEDS 2023 Year of Culture, as there is a need to understand the current levels of cultural engagement in schools to evaluate the impact and legacy left behind by the programme. This understanding will inform Leeds City Council's priorities for arts and culture, the LEEDS 2023 evaluation as well as investment priorities in the region for children, families and young people.
On this page you'll find all of our outputs from the project including the website, data sources, useful resources and blog posts. If you're interested in what you see here and have ideas for how you might want to progress this work, then get in touch with us at hello@open-innovations.org, or email Dr. Briony at b.g.thomas@leeds.ac.uk.
